Calling All Performers: Show Your Talent in Kent!

Attention all performers in the Kent area! It’s time to unleash your talent and take center stage at the highly anticipated “Kent Has Talent” show. Mark your calendars for Thursday, May 23, as this is your chance to shine at the Kent-Meridian Performing Arts Center.

After a long hiatus, the Kent Community Foundation is thrilled to announce the return of this beloved talent competition in 2024. The Foundation’s president, Lori Paxton, expresses excitement about showcasing the exceptional abilities of Kent’s performers and emphasizing the importance of arts in the community. Moreover, this event serves as a fundraiser to support the Foundation’s mission of celebrating the arts throughout the year.

Originally launched in 2011 by Tonya Goodwillie, owner of Allegro Performing Arts in Kent, the “Kent Has Talent” competition enjoyed a successful run for two years. Now, with the support of the Kent Community Foundation and local businesses, Goodwillie believes the time is right to bring back this extraordinary event and foster the performing arts in the community.

Adding to the excitement, the talented Bender, a well-known radio personality in the Pacific Northwest, has agreed to emcee the show. With his extensive experience and popularity, Bender is sure to create an electrifying atmosphere for both performers and audience members.

Whether you excel in music, dance, magic, poetry, or any other form of talent, this competition welcomes all. With cash prizes up for grabs in each category and generous sponsors, aspiring performers have extra motivation to give their best on stage. Winners will also enjoy the opportunity to represent “Kent Has Talent” at local events, showcasing their skills and contributing to the vibrant arts scene in Kent.

If you’re ready to step into the spotlight, preliminary qualification rounds will take place on March 23 and March 24 at Allegro Performing Arts.
